The Gall Midges (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae: Cecidomyiinae) From Allegheny County Pennsylvania

Life History. Smooth oval leaf gall (Fig. 221) on Laportea canadensis. The gall is about 8.0-12 mm long and 4.0-5.0 mm wide. There are two generations a year, the full grown larva from the autumn generation overwinters in the central chamber of the gall.
