Gallformers ID Notes

This non-native fungus causes alder tongue galls on European alder (Alnus glutinosa) in Europe and may do the same on naturalized European alders in North America.

The native fungus Taphrina robinsoniana induces tongue galls on native Alnus incana and native Taphrina occidentalis induces tongue galls on
Alnus rubra, A. rhombifolia, A. sinuata and A. tenuifolia.
