A new species of Contarinia Rondani (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) that induces flower galls on canola (Brassicaceae) in the Canadian prairies

Larvae, initially white in colour changing to yellow as they develop (Fig. 3E), feed within the developing flower; the flower bud remains closed and becomes swollen, forming a gall. Galled flowers produce no seed and are conspicuous from other normally developing buds and flowers.
