Gallformers ID Notes

Oval leaf spots on leaves of Quercus phellos, often but not exclusively clustering along the midrib, with a purple spot in the center and a distinct purple ring at the edge. Slightly swollen above and below the surface of the leaf. Observed in Arkansas in April and May.
