Gallformers ID Notes

This species of leafy mistletoe induces abrupt stem swellings on Forestiera pubescens, serviceberry. Galls are the same color and texture as the branch it grows on and mistletoe grows from the galls. This species also has been observed inducing galls on cultivated Eastern cottonwoods, but the galls are much smaller and more subtle than on Forestiera.
