Gallformers ID Notes

These cylindrical brown galls appear to burst from Ericameria nauseosa stems. The surface is covered with slight ridges running from the apex to the base of the gall. On every example of this species photographed there has been a hole at the gall apex, possibly suggesting that the hole isn't created by the insect emerging.
