A slight deformation of the midrib of Ostrya virginiana causing the leaf on both sides to fold nearly together. No discoloration or noticeable galled tissue as in this species, which was found to be induced by a distinct species by DNA barcoding according to this iNat comment. Observed in Virginia in May.
