Gallformers ID Notes

These lopsided stem swellings were only found on a few nearby Salix irrorata, despite that plant being common at the location it was found. The galls are the same color as the stem, light green with a waxy white coating. They often just protrude from one side of the stem, similar to Euura lasioplesis as depicted in Russo 2021. An older gall on the same plant as the original gall was full of frass when opened, which suggests that the inducer is a sawfly.
