Gallformers ID Notes

Enlarged terminal bud galls on Notholithocarpus densiflorus. The galls are thick, hairy and integral to the stem. A cross-sectioned gall revealed a chamber-like opening at the base. Observed in Marin and Sonoma Counties of California from September to January.
