Puccinia baccharidis D & H

On Baccharis viminea. Pasadena, Cal., Aug., 1893, leg. McClatchie (No. 359). β€” This fungus has most resemblance to another Californian species on Baccharis pilularis, viz.: Puccinia evadens, Hark. In the " Provisional Host-Index of the Fungi of the United States" of Farlow and Seymour Puccinia evadens is also noted as occurring on Baccharis viminea. But there can be no doubt as regards the specific difference of the forms.
