Cecidomyiidae of Helianthus: taxonomy, hosts and distribution

During this study we found larvae of 2 species of Neolasioptera, both probably new, in 3 collections. One species was found in stem galls of H. divaricatus from Wister, OK ... and H. eggertii from Rocky Dale, TN; the other species was taken on H. angustifolius from Trivoli, TX. These species will be described when adults are reared. They are not necessarily closely related to [N.] thurstoni.
