Gallformers ID Notes

This is a leafmine, not a gall. However, the outline of the leaf is sometime altered (as shown in the photo above), which can cause it to be mistaken for a leaf fold or a true gall. This distortion occurs because the fly mines the leaf when the leaf is still expanding.
