Gallformers ID Notes

The white 'urchin' gall is found on needles of Bald Cypress and Pond Cypress, often in clusters. The galls have two 'pads' at the bottom on either side of the needle. The pads are topped with many spikes, with the outer spikes tending to be longer than the central ones. The pads may be pale yellow-green or pink. The spikes may be white or pale pink. Spikes are longer than those seen on 'starburst' gall.
