The larvae develop in woody, elongate (15-25 mm long, 7.5-13.5 mm wide) and irregular galls below the tips of twigs of Vernonia anisochaetoides Sonder. The mode of formation and the structure of the gall are unique and were described by Munro (1925). Puparium 5.7-6.7 mm long, 2.7-3.5 mm wide (Munro 1925); no puparia were available for this study.
