... rather complicated terminal twig galls on Tarchonanthus camphoratus and T. trilobus [...] larvae of Afrodiplosis tarchonanthi Felt (Cecidomyiidae) (Munro 1926a, 1926b, 1935a), [...] being the primary inciters of these galls. [...] the galls collected in Cape Point (see below) were very conspicuous due to their size and striking white appearance against the generally greener background of the shrubs. Similar cecidomyiid galls were illustrated and described in detail by Munro (1926a, 1926b).
