Trisetacus sequoiae . . . colonizes and damages the buds, causing browning of the scales and some of the leaves behind the growing point and preventing further growth of lateral buds. As long as the buds or terminal shoots are infested, no new growth develops. [photos on page 99]
Specimens were collected in buds of redwood during September along the northern California coast.
