Cecidomyia q-oruca Walsh [Gagne's World Catalog lists this citation as the original description of the species even though it was listed by Felt in 1910 and presumably described prior to that by Walsh]

An elongate fold gall close to the midrib, some 12 mm long, 1 mm wide, irregularly annulate and containing white larvae, occurs on Quercus tinctoria [velutina] and is labeled as this species in the Museum of Comparative Zoology, Cambridge MA.

The galls are budlike, rounded, obtuse, usually unilocular or sometimes flattened and occur on the flower heads of Verbesina alternifolia. Polygnotus actinomeridis Ashm. MS (Insect Life 4: 126) was apparently reared from this gall.

This species produces a swelling at the base of scrub pine needles, Pinus inops [Pinus virginiana]. It is probably a species of Itonida and may be identical with I. pinirigidae Pack.

Dasyneura meibomiae

This gall is an elongate, fusiform, clustered bud growth occurring on several species of tick-trefoil, Desmodium species.

The urn-shaped, sub-sessile, pale green, semitransparent, succulent galls are about 3 mm high and occur on the upper surface of the leaves of Urtica gracilis.
