This leaf gall-former is found in Arizona and New Mexico on *Quercus emoryi* and *Q. undulata var. pungens*.

**Remarks:**  
The original description contained no information on the first or second instar. Ferris (1955) noted that *O. secunda* forms galls on oaks in Mexico, similar to *O. cristicola*.
