Gallformers ID Notes

White spangle galls scattered on the lower side of a Quercus muehlenbergii leaf. The galls are distinctly wider at the top and bottom than in the middle, and have a slight nipple projecting away from the leaf. The upper disk is rimmed with red. Likely Phylloteras.

Observed in Ohio in July and September.
