The plant-feeding gall midges of North America

Swollen bud.....Halodiplosis sarcobati (Felt)

Enlarged buds are about 1 cm long and 6 mm in diameter and are made up of thickened, appressed bud scales. Pupation occurs inside the buds, and adults emerge in spring. Host: S. vermiculatus. Distr.: Idaho and Utah.
