The Gall Midges (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae: Cecidomyiinae) From Allegheny County Pennsylvania

Life history. The larvae of Ametrodiplosis fistulosae Plakidas are in tubular leaf galls on Monarda fistulosa from June through August. The galls are 2.0 mm wide and 4.0 mm long, extending above the upper surface of the leaf. Larvae overwinter in the soil.
