A hairless, red, globular gall on the stem of an oak likely to be Quercus marilandica. The gall has white spots and is reminiscent of Kokkocynips imbricariae in its overall appearance and placement. However, this gall differs in having a relatively flat top narrowing to a smaller conical structure, blackened at its apex. Observed in Texas in October.
