A cluster of green, hairless, conical-globular flower galls on catkins of Quercus nigra. Observed in Georgia in April. These galls closely match those of Callirhytis myrtifoliae and Andricus fitzpatricki, which both form nearly identical galls on closely related hosts (Quercus luarifolia, myrtifolia, inopina, and phellos). This gall may be conspecific with one of those two species or distinct.
