Gallformers ID Notes

A green globular gall speckled with slightly raised black dots, similar to the agamic gall of Amphibolips spinosa, with thick walls and short radiating fibers holding a single central larval cell, on buds of Quercus nigra appearing as early as July and persisting into the fall and likely over winter. Observed in Florida and Louisiana. This is likely the agamic generation gall of Amphibolips melanocera.
