Mottled red and yellow gall occuring on Quercus pungens stems. The base of the gall tapers to a narrow point where it attaches to the stem. The surface appears to be finely hairy. One photographed gall had a nipplelike protuberance growing from near the gall apex. The galls are fresh in early October in Texas.
