The plant-feeding gall midges of North America

rolled leaf or swollen midrib fold...Contarinia sp.

The damage was described as a swollen midrib fold in Felt (1940) but as a rolled leaf in his unpublished notebook. Larvae were taken in July and adults reared in August... A lestodiplosis was also reared from the damaged leaves.
