Gall ovoid-tapered...on apical bud...Asphondylia sp.

The brownish galls occur in midsummer at stem apices. Adults emerged in mid-August. It is possible that this species makes a gall on the flower head later in the season. Host: A. subulatus. Distr.: Maine
