The plant-feeding gall midges of North America

Larva in bulbletlike gall occasionally present around central cell containing [Asphondylia] monacha...Rhopalomyia sp.

The galls are monothalamous, teardrop-shaped, and somewhat shorter than the central cell containing A. monacha. Several may surround the central gall. Host: S. juncea. Distr.: Maryland.
