Viburnum
...
Enlarged blossom or bud...Schizomyia viburni Felt

This species is known from a female "about to oviposit in flowers," but Felt (1918a, 1940) associates it with an unspecified bud gall. An enlarged flower gall is made by another Schizomyia on Sambucus, so S. viburni may come from enlarged flowers if not buds as well. Host: Viburnum sp. Distr.: New York.
