Gallformers ID Notes

Confirmation needed that identical galls found in N. America are induced by same species. As of August 2024, the one recorded N. American find was a report on iNaturalist from the California-Oregon border showing a gall that matched gall photos taken from Europe on Pteridium aquilinum var. pubescens, an American subspecies of the European host plant.

It may be more appropriate to refer North American records to an undescribed Dasineura sp., as was done by Eiseman (2025) for an adult reared from perhaps the same gall in Michigan.
