The Gall Midges (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae: Cecidomyiinae) From Allegheny County Pennsylvania

Resseliella globosa Plakidas is a univoltine species which produces a flower blossom gall on Acalypha virginica Linnaeus. Infested blossoms do not open and are larger in size than uninfested ones. The gall is illustrated in Gagné (1989) page 195.
