Tapered stem swelling...Neolasioptera rudbeckiae (Felt)
Occasionally one larva lives in the stem pith without causing an enlargement. This species has also been reared from the soft tissue of galls of Asphondylia rudbeckiaeconspicua. More than one generation per year may occur because an adult was reared from galls in September. Host: R. laciniata.
