Host: Prairie rosinweed (S. integrifolium) and cup
plant (S. perfoliatum).

Gall location: On the stem, at least several centimeters from the apex, and often in the lower
half. Multiple gall clusters may be found alongthe same stem.

Description: These galls are somewhat variable, but they often appear as clusters of single-chambered, rounded galls around less than 1 centimeter in diameter. Occasionally, the clustered galls are so densely packed that they appear as one large, amorphous gall. Green and fleshy and often with brown, dry areas when fresh, to entirely rough and brown when dried and old.

Range: Thus far, these galls have only beenfound in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Ohio. However, they were only recently seen for the first time, and likely occur elsewhere within the native ranges of the two host plants.
