A cockscomb-type of a gall on Rhus toxicodendron listed as producing Eriophyidae, produced Cecidomyidae. This shows that either a new gall was produced on the plant or that the original citation was an error.
[note: "Rhus toxicodendron" is currently a synonym of a southern plant, Toxicodendron pubescens. However, Maze made this collection in Pennsylvania, north of the native range of this species. It is possible that this name was meant to refer to some other Toxicodendron sp.]
