Location: upper leaf, lower leaf, leaf midrib, between leaf veins
Form:
Cells: monothalamous
Possible Range:
The gall's range is computed from the range of all hosts that the gall occurs on. In some cases we have evidence that the gall does not occur across the full range of the hosts and we will remove these places from the range. For undescribed species we will show the expected range based on hosts plus where the galls have been observed.

Genetic specificity of a plant–insect food web: Implications for linking genetic variation to network complexity
Matt Barbour
(2016)
[Barbour reports finding Iteomyia salicisverruca on Salix hookeriana in a common garden grown in northern California. OTOH, Gagne & Jaschhof's 2021 World Catalog, pg. 378, lists Salix humilis (prairie willow) as the only host, which seems confusing in light of the records the catalog mentions from Oregon and Washington. Barbour's et al.'s drawings, both here and in a paper published in 2020, show hooked red cones, like bird's beaks or rhinoceros horns, protruding from the underside of a leaf.]
